Tom Marvelli, inspired by his evolving parenting journey as his twins head off to college, has rekindled his lifelong passion by embarking on a self-produced graphic novel series. With a two-decade tenure in the Entertainment, Publishing, and Licensing industry at Marvel and Hasbro, Tom’s globally recognized creative work has positioned him perfectly to pursue his dreams further.
His journey began at Marvel during the company’s post-bankruptcy revitalization, where, as a creative executive, he played pivotal roles in Licensing, Publishing, and Live Events. His leadership in developing key creative brand assets for commercialization was instrumental in collaborations with major studios like SONY, FOX, New Line, Universal, and Marvel Studios, contributing to blockbusters such as the Spider-Man and Iron Man trilogies, among many others.
At Marvel, Tom also spearheaded creative development for licensed brands, including character and script reviews and logo creation, supporting animated hits like “Avengers Assemble” and “Ultimate Spider-Man.” His contributions extended to developing brand guides that influenced Marvel’s global presence.
In publishing, he was integral in designing books and logos, notably for Marvel’s “Civil War,” the highest-selling graphic novel in the company’s history. Additionally, he led the internal team for live events, collaborating with partners like Feld Entertainment on “Marvel Universe Live.”
Transitioning to Hasbro, Tom served as the Creative Director for Action Brands, where he oversaw the creative direction of iconic franchises including Transformers, Power Rangers, and G.I. Joe. His leadership was crucial to the brand development of major projects like “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” “Transformers One,” and “Power Rangers Cosmic Fury.”
His expertise extended to partnerships with Nickelodeon and Netflix, overseeing brand development for “Transformers EarthSpark” and co-writing the pitch for the acclaimed “Transformers War For Cybertron” trilogy.
Now, leveraging his extensive background in licensed entertainment, Tom is dedicated to crafting his own stories and brands, viewing this new chapter as the culmination of an extraordinary career.
